So you have an idea for a script? Or witnessed a real life situation that just BELONGS on the big screen? In this exhilarating class we explore the basics of pulling your idea together so it translates well on screen.

1pm-3pm    Pitching--Get Others Onboard…
We all know delivery is key… It’s your vision, now help others see it! Here we explore methods on how to discuss your project in a vivid yet concise manner so that others (producers, distributors, agents, etc.) can share in your vision too!

3:30-5:30pm   Preparing the Budget (pt. 1)—Keep Your Money Right!
Now you’ve got them onboard…how much should you be putting into craft services?  Costuming?  Set design? Props?  The list of costs goes on…
Learn how to develop a financial plan in order to maximize the funding you now have.

Here, you’ll fine-tune what you already know about organizing your ideas. Couple that with learning how to showcase the key elements of your story and we’re one step closer to the filming process!

1pm-3pm   The Art of Re-writing--What the…?
Your concept is now out of your head and on paper, but it’s still not quite right? Here we’ll learn the process of rewriting without veering from the overall idea or disturbing the continuity of your project.

3:30-5:30pm   Preparing the Budget (pt. 2)
Learn how to shift the budget when necessary, without taking money away from vital parts of your production

There is an agent for every actor. We all know actors and agents go hand & hand…but why? Learn what role an agent plays and how to find the one that best suits your individual needs.

3:30pm-5:30pm    So, What is my motivation?—Different types of Gigs
For the actor looking to expand their range, challenge their creativity or simply be more marketable, this workshop explores the many different genres available for actors.

10am-12pm   Don’t Call Us, We’ll call you…Getting the Job
Get Cast! The audition process can be brutal… In this workshop, we’ll explore everything from overcoming nervousness to paying special attention to detail when choosing monologues or other audition pieces.

1-3pm  Joining the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG)
If you’re serious about acting as a career, this workshop is a MUST for you. We will discuss the pros of being a SAG member, as well as the requirements needed to make it happen.

3:30-5:30pm   Different Types of Gigs (pt.2)
This is an expansion of Friday’s workshop. Here, we further explore the variety the field of acting has for you, as well as learn how to optimize our role by paying special attention to specific character attributes (type, age, etc).
